The Montessori Educational Process is unique, with the goal of promoting the development of social skills, emotional and spiritual development, physical coordination as well as cognitive preparation .

A Montessori school operates on the basis that the child needs freedom within limits. It provides a carefully prepared environment which guarantees exposure to the materials and experiences they will enjoy. Our school is designed to take advantage of the self-motivation and unique ability of each young child to develop his own capabilities. All of the teaching material is within the child's reach. As a result, they function to their optimum in this environment.

A child is faced with obstacles in attempting to adapt to an adult world. At Good Shepherd the prepared environment has been adapted to the child. All the school furnishings are sized and arranged to be easily accessible to the young individual. Dr. Maria Montessori said, "The child has one intuitive aim: his or her self-development to its fullest potential."

This allows the child to experience the joy of learning, the time to enjoy the process of learning, ensure the development of self esteem and provide the necessary experience from which the child gains knowledge from a Biblical foundation.
